In 2014 Outset Greece supported the group exhibition of sixteen Greek and Cypriot artists, titled Tradition Today: exploring conditions to recreate it at House of Cyprus, Athens. The group exhibition was curated by Stavros Kavalaris and examined changes in one’s conditions and experiences in regards to tradition. An approach as such defines the causative relations of one’s personal, single moments, which act as the key factor for the affect and understanding (and vice versa) of the cyclical relation between cause and efficacy. This very mutuality denotes ‘systemic’ tradition as a non-scholarly term, as of yet.
In his theoretical text Jackie and Synesthesia Stavros Kavalaris employs a chapter of literary critic and author Wayne Koestenbaum’s book Jackie Under My Skin, to signify that chronicling as a metaphor functions as an analogous correlation, uncalled for further analysis. It simply exists.
