Tauba Auerbach, Wayne McGregor‘Tetractys - The Art Of Fugue’, 2014

In 2014 Outset in association with The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts supported the dance & art production Tetractys – The Art of Fugue. The piece is choreographer Wayne McGregor’s latest work for The Royal Ballet, London. Following his creative partnership with artist Audrey Niffenegger in Raven Girl, McGregor continues to explore the connections between the arts.

In this keenly anticipated new ballet he teams up with artist Tauba Auerbach and choreographs to Johann Sebastian Bach’s phenomenal The Art of Fugue. Bringing together an 18th-century work of magnificent invention with pioneering 21st-century choreography this performance is an exhilarating fusion of contemporary ballet and baroque music. The work is brought to the main stage with set and costume designs by Tauba Auerbach and lighting designs by Lucy Carter.

Tetractys – The Art of Fugue premiered at the Royal Opera House on 7th February 2014. The piece was performed as part of an evening programme featuring two further dance productions – Rhapsody and Gloria by choreographers Frederick Ashton and Kenneth MacMillan.
