‘Outset Frieze Tate Fund, 100 Works that belong to you, 2003-2015’, 2003–2015

The Outset/Frieze Art Fair Fund to benefit the Tate Collection (OFT) was a strategic partnership between Outset Contemporary Art Fund, Frieze Art Fair and Tate to buy important works of art by emerging artists at the fair for the National Collection. Each year OFT invited two international curators to work with the Tate curatorial team as part of the selection panel for the Fund and to complement the collection strategy. Over the course of twelve years, 100 works by significant international artists have been acquired for the permanent collection.

The initiative was funded by the generosity of Outset’s Core Patrons and Capital Patrons Circles as well as our corporate partners Tiffany & Co., Leviev, McLaren and Le Meridien.

OFT is now continuing with the generous sponsorship by WME-IMG.

Outset has brought new energy and imagination to contemporary art by supporting artists that explore new ideas and institutions that seek new paths… The Outset Frieze Tate Fund has brought many important works by emerging artists into the national collection, making it possible for Tate to share some of the exciting developments in contemporary art with a broad public
