Noga Rozman and Roxy Munteanu / Dear Corner

Dear Corner is a duo exhibition delving into the peripheral nature of the neighborhood of Ramat Eliyahu while challenging and redefining concepts of margins and centers. Despite its size and significance, Rishon LeZion is not typically perceived as a cultural or artistic hub within Israel. Rozman and Munteanu embark on a project rooted in their research and engagement with their residential city, its essence, materials, and potential. Their aim is to propose the transformation of Ramat Eliyahu into a creative and cultural nucleus, serving as a center for cultural life and a communal sanctuary.

In their new artworks, Rozman and Munteanu integrate various materials and mediums. They recurrently utilize ready-made materials, particularly discarded and abandoned parts and structures from old playgrounds. These abandoned elements become sculptural interactive objects, magnified and adorned, accompanied by sound and video works. 

Dear Corner invites viewers to contemplate the interplay between the margins and the center, to explore the hidden gems within peripheral communities, and to envision the potential of these spaces as vibrant cultural nuclei. Through the utilization of local materials, collaboration with residents, and the creation of immersive artworks, Rozman and Munteanu offer a new narrative of periphery, one that celebrates resilience, diversity, and connection.
