‘BACK HOME - KYPSELIAN SALON’, 2020

Kypselian Salon – Back Home was the third annual winter exhibition by Snehta. Snehta showcases works from its depot and new art pieces from inspiring artists, in a virtual, three-dimensional space to allow visitors to explore the works even at these difficult times when mobility and physical presence are limited. The digital environment developed is based on Snehta’s earliest exhibition setting; The Ag.Zonis 1 apartment in Kypseli. The virtual platform allowed visitors to explore works created by some of Athens’ most promising young artists, while they had the opportunity to revisit the space – even digitally –  and explore some of its ‘darkest recesses’ where traces of the near past became apparent to highlight the unique environment in which artists developed new ideas and original artworks since 2012. The works exhibited were available for the third year in a row at surprisingly low prices. The digital platform allowed visitors to refer to the online shop while experiencing the works in their virtual hosting space. Revenues from exhibition sales went solely towards Snehta’s operation and activities happening within the community of Kypseli.
