Outset Contemporary Art Fund Israel was delighted to support Fresh Paint Contemporary Art Fair, the fair’s Video Greenhouse and give the Outset Award for Video Greenhouse Artist for the first time.
The Video Greenhouse, curated by the Center for Contemporary Art CCA, included 8 video works selected from over 80 works submitted in response to an open call. The award was aimed at encouraging young independent artists, promoting video art making in Israel, and supporting new and challenging art.
The award recipient was the artist Maya Smira, for her work Borderline (2014). The award included a grant for the production of a new work that was displayed within the following two years in a museum or non-profit art venue in Israel or abroad.
Fresh Paint Contemporary Art Fair is held each year in a surprising, new location in Tel Aviv – the beating heart of the Israeli cultural world – and attracts over 30,000 visitors.
