‘Outset Bialik Residency’ is a residency programme for international artists and curators who wish to come to Israel in order to produce new work, a large scale exhibition or for research purposes.
‘Outset Bialik Residency’ was initiated in January 2013 and grants the artists hospitality in a 140 square meter studio and /or small apartment in the heart of Tel-Aviv-Jaffa. The residency can last between 1-8 weeks. Any additional costs such as flights, per diem, transportation etc. are not covered by Outset.
Since 2013 more than 50 artists and curators have been in residence, among them are Udo Kittelmann, Director and Curator, Nationalgalerie, Berlin, Ibrahim Mahama, artist, Ghana, Candice Breitz, artist, South Africa, Emily Wardill, artist, UK, MitraAbbaspour, Associate Curator, Department of Photography, Museum of Modern Art, New York, Michael Buetler, artist, Germany, Pierre Bal Blanc, Curator, France, Ragnar Kjartansson, artist, Iceland and more.
‘Outset Bialik Residency’ is collaborating with various art schools and art institutions in Israel such as Bezalel Academy of Arts, Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art, The Faculty of Arts – Hamidrasha at Beit Berl College, Center for Contemporary Art (CCA), The Israel Museum, Jerusalem, The Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Petach Tikva Museum of Art and more.
During their stay the guests engage with the local art scene and communitie – art students, artists, curators, art enthusiasts – and conduct workshops and lectures open to the public.
