Outset supported the first congress of IKT (International Association for Curators of Contemporary Art) in Israel. It was the first excursion of IKT to Israel initiated by curator and IKT member, Danna Heller. Institutional and independent curators from all over the world got a wide exposure to Israeli art and culture through a professionally curated programme that introduced the varied voices of the contemporary art scene in Israel today, exploring hybrids of curatorial spaces, practice and thought unique to this region.
The Outset-supported IKT symposium Curating the New Politics at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem led by Stephen Foster (John Hansard Gallery, University of Southampton, UK) with the participation of Ute Meta Bauer (Dean of Fine Art, Royal College of Art, London), Tania Bruguera (performance artist based in Mexico and Paris), Eyal Danon (director and head curator of the Israeli Center for Digital Art, Holon) and Jonathan Harris (director of the Winchester Center for Global Futures in Art, Design & Media).
The symposium was followed by an evening of performances by Alona Rodeh, the duo Yonatan Kunda & Neta Wiener and Arkadiusz Tomalka.
